I'm confused by the statistic "Men are worse than women, with a worrying 11 per cent of them owning up to currently having an affair, compared to just six per cent of women." By the traditional definition, each affair has to involve exactly one man and one woman. Options: (a) lots of men are having affairs with other men, (b) lots of women aren't admitting to affairs they have, (c) lots of men are inventing affairs they aren't having. Any guesses?

I presume they only call it an affair if the person is married, therefore it should say 11 per cent of married men are having affairs? I think it is one of those strange statistical things :-)

Ah, so that would imply that unmarried women are more likely to sleep with married men. Makes a bit more sense, but still deeply saddening.
