Pray for the Bible (facebook fanpage)

Over the weekend, the facebook fanpage for the bible has come under attack. It seems a concerted effort, by several people, to disrupt its running has begun. There have been several inappropriate posts and messages.

Please pray for Mark Brown and the volunteers who keep it running as they deal with the situation. It isn't as simple as banning people, and even if it was, is that the best thing to do? So let's pray for wisdom.

If you want to join the Bible facebook page then you can here, and don't forget the WordLive fanpage here.

This incident reminded me of a news report on an artist who had allowed people to deface the Bible and presented it as a work of art.I expected to be really angry at this when I heard it but then I realised that this is just what Jesus does. He is our shock-absorber. All our pain, all our hurt, all our sadness and suffering... when we as Christians cry out for God, it's certainly heartfelt. God always wants us to be honest about any negativity we are hiding, and the light of His Word always seems to bring it out into the open. As humans, some part of us wants to get better and transcend the difficulties in our character and even in our own lives in general, however many of us don't like the fact that we can't do this by ourselves. As a result we don't always give God the respect He is entitled to.
I'm not excusing abusive behaviour or trying to justify it.We can't always help what we feel but we can help what we do, and it's this that makes the difference to our lives and the lives of others.
God bless you all.
I will keep praying.
